Safety Walker GB-510 — Gas Spring Standing Assist for Early Rehabilitation

SKU GB-510

The OG Wellness Safety Walker GB-510 is a professional-grade standing assist walking frame designed for early-stage rehabilitation, post-surgical gait training, and daily mobility support for patients with movement difficulties. Manufactured in Japan and CE marked for the European market, the GB-510 combines a gas spring saddle height adjustment mechanism, rotating upper body support guards, and cushioned lower body saddle to create a comprehensive safety environment that enables patients to stand, walk, and transfer independently — even in the earliest and most vulnerable stages of rehabilitation.

Key Features :

Gas Spring Saddle Height Adjustment — One-Step Standing Assistance The GB-510's most clinically distinctive feature is its gas spring lifting mechanism for saddle height adjustment. Unlike conventional height-adjustable frames that require manual pin-and-clip repositioning, the gas spring system allows the saddle to be raised or lowered smoothly with a single-step action — enabling even caregivers with minimal physical strength to assist patients from a seated to standing position without effort. The saddle height adjusts freely across an approximate range of 370–780 mm, accommodating a wide range of patient heights and chair-to-standing transfer scenarios.

Smooth Transfers — Match Saddle to Wheelchair or Bed Height The saddle height can be freely adjusted in a single motion. Simply set the saddle height to the height of the wheelchair or the bed — creating a seamless lateral transfer surface. The patient slides from their wheelchair or bed directly onto the saddle at the same height, without the difficult and risky step of lowering themselves from a higher position. This single design principle dramatically reduces transfer-related fall risk and makes the GB-510 a practical daily-use aid rather than a therapy-room-only device.

Rotating Open-and-Close Upper Body Support Guard The wide arm rest and easily graspable grips provide sturdy support for the upper body. The rear support prevents the user from falling backwards. The guard opens wide for easy patient entry from a wheelchair or bed, then closes and locks securely around the patient — providing bilateral arm support, forward stability, and rear fall protection simultaneously. By supporting the upper and lower body, it eliminates the anxiety of falling and greatly reduces therapist and caretaker workload for instructing and monitoring patients.

Cushioned Saddle — Lower Body Fall Protection The cushioned saddle offers sturdy support for sudden buckling. The saddle is designed not to hinder walking or transfers. The saddle's geometry and position are carefully engineered so that it does not contact or constrain the patient's thighs or perineum during normal walking — it activates only when the patient sits down intentionally or sinks due to leg buckling, providing an immediate safe landing surface without interfering with gait mechanics.

Removable Saddle for Promoting Independence While offering a place to sit and rest, the saddle promotes user independence, increasing their range of movement and the time spent exercising. As a patient's strength and confidence grow through rehabilitation, the saddle can be removed to transition toward a more conventional walker configuration — supporting a progressive independence pathway within a single device rather than requiring a change of equipment.

Quick Lever Armrest Height Adjustment The arm rest height can be smoothly adjusted by using the quick fixing lever. The armrest adjusts across an approximate range of 830–1150 mm, accommodating a wide range of patient statures. The quick-lever mechanism enables fast clinical changeover between patients of different heights — an important feature in busy rehabilitation wards where multiple patients use shared equipment throughout the day.

Wide Casters for Clinical Environment Safety The wide casters prevent the wheels from getting stuck in elevator gaps and allow for safe operation when range expanded. This caster design is a practical but important detail for hospital and care home environments where elevator floor gaps, door thresholds, and floor surface transitions are common navigation challenges. The wide caster footprint ensures stable, snag-free movement across these transitions — eliminating a common cause of fall incidents during assisted walking in clinical environments.
