Tesla Pulse—ELF Magnetotherapy Unit for Osteoarticular Conditions & Sports Rehab
The Physioled Tesla Pulse is a professional Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetotherapy unit designed for non-invasive, non-painful magnetic field therapy for a broad range of musculoskeletal, inflammatory, osteoarticular, and sports trauma conditions.
Tesla Pulse — RAMP Technology at 1 Tesla Explained
The Tesla Pulse's RAMP (Radiated Magnetic Pulse) technology produces a pulsed magnetic field with characteristics optimised for penetration and biological effect in dense, poorly vascularised structures including bone, joint cartilage, and dense connective tissue:
1 Tesla (10 kGauss) Field Intensity — At 1 Tesla, the Tesla Pulse operates at an intensity equivalent to clinical MRI scanners used for diagnostic imaging — an intensity sufficient to produce strong electromagnetic induction effects within deep biological tissue at meaningful therapeutic magnitudes. This high field intensity allows the Tesla Pulse to reach and stimulate structures at tissue depths that standard ELF magnetotherapy simply cannot access at clinically effective field strengths.
Very Low Frequency (0.5-5 Hz) — The pulsed delivery at 0.5 to 5 Hz produces discrete, well-separated magnetic pulses rather than the continuous sinusoidal field of standard magnetotherapy. This pulsed delivery concentrates the therapeutic electromagnetic impulse, producing stronger per-pulse biological effects — particularly in tissue with long membrane time constants such as bone and cartilage — than continuous field delivery at equivalent mean field intensities.
Negligible Thermal Effects — Despite its high peak field intensity, the pulsed, low-duty-cycle delivery of RAMP technology maintains negligible thermal effects — enabling treatment at high magnetic intensities without the thermal risks that would accompany continuous high-power field delivery.
High Tissue Penetration — The combination of high field intensity and pulsed delivery ensures effective magnetic flux density within deep joint structures regardless of overlying soft tissue depth — making the Tesla Pulse effective for deep hip joints, lumbar facet joints, and intervertebral disc pathologies that standard magnetotherapy may not penetrate adequately.
Non-Invasive & Non-Painful — Despite its clinical power, RAMP treatment is entirely non-invasive and non-painful — the patient feels no sensation during treatment. This makes the Tesla Pulse uniquely appropriate for severe and chronic conditions where tissue fragility, pain sensitivity, or previous failed invasive treatments make aggressive physical therapy approaches inappropriate.
Tesla Pulse Treatment Delivery — RAMP Handpiece & Trolley
The Tesla Pulse includes a dedicated RAMP handpiece with an interchangeable circular head that is positioned against or near the treatment area. Unlike the flat plate and cylindrical transducers of the standard Tesla, the RAMP handpiece is held directly at the specific anatomical target — joint space, tendon insertion, vertebral segment, or periosteal surface — and delivers the high-intensity pulsed field in a focussed, directed manner to the precise clinical target
