MAT Muscle Meter® — 500kg Push, Pull & PPT Handheld Dynamometer | 5 Testing Mode

SKU MAT-MM

The MAT Muscle Meter® is a professional handheld dynamometer (HHD) built by Movement Assessment Technologies (MAT) — the Australian company trusted by over 30,000 health and fitness professionals from all around the world for their clinical strength assessment. The second generation has doubled the force that can be assessed — now to 500kg — and redesigned the machine for even more accuracy and longevity.

The Muscle Meter is three devices in one for all your muscle strength testing needs at a price you can afford — simultaneously a push dynamometer, a pull dynamometer, and a pain pressure threshold (PPT) algometer in a single device weighing less than 200g.

Three Devices in One — Push, Pull & PPT :

  1. Push Dynamometer The primary function — apply the Muscle Meter directly against the patient's body segment while the patient pushes against it (break test) or holds against the clinician's applied force (make test).
  2. Pull Dynamometer — A True Pull, Not a Strap Workaround The Muscle Meter has actual push and pull functions — most competitors only have push, then use a strap for pulling forces. True bidirectional load cell measurement — with no strap required and no secondary accessory.
  3. Pain Pressure Threshold (PPT) Algometry The Muscle Meter's fifth testing mode — Pain Pressure Threshold — converts the device into a clinical algometer, measuring the pressure at which a patient first reports pain (PPT). PPT testing provides objective, reproducible quantification of mechanical pain sensitivity.

Five Testing Modes — The Full Clinical Strength Profile

Test and track 300+ different assessments using five unique testing modes :

  1. Max Mode — Peak & Average Force Get peak and average force measurements over a number of repetitions using the Muscle Meter paired with the Measurz app. The Max mode is the clinical workhorse — delivering the peak force and average force across the prescribed number of repetitions for any push, pull, or grip test.
  2. RFD Mode — Rate of Force Development Measure rate of force development and time to peak using the Muscle Meter's live mode in the Measurz app. RFD (kg/s or N/s) is the speed at which the patient develops force from initiation to maximum — reflecting the neural drive and explosive contractile speed of the assessed muscle group. RFD is distinct from and complementary to peak force.
  3. Static Endurance Mode — Sustained Force Capacity Test your client's endurance strength over a set time period using Measurz static endurance testing mode. The patient maintains a target force level against the Muscle Meter for a set duration — measuring the capacity to sustain muscular effort over time.
  4. Dynamic Endurance Mode — Repeated Force Capacity Test your client's endurance strength over a number of reps using Measurz dynamic testing mode. The patient performs repeated maximal or submaximal force efforts against the Muscle Meter — measuring force across repetitions and computing the Endurance Fatigue Index (% force drop from first to final repetition).
  5. Pain Pressure Threshold (PPT) Mode — Algometry Test your client's pain pressure threshold capacity using Measurz PPT testing and tracking mode. The clinician applies the Muscle Meter progressively and the patient signals when pressure first becomes painful — the device records this threshold force value.
