Metronome
The Baseline Mechanical Algometer (Dolorimeter) is a professional, handheld diagnostic device used to measure pressure pain thresholds and tenderness in soft tissues. Instead of relying purely on a patient's verbal description of pain, this instrument allows healthcare providers to pin down an exact, objective measurement of force.
The clinician presses the standardized, flat circular tip against a specific muscle group or trigger point until the patient signals that the pressure has turned into discomfort. The device automatically captures and locks the maximum force applied on its dial face, allowing for easy reading even after it is lifted away from the skin.
It is completely mechanical and battery-free, making it an incredibly reliable, always-ready tool for mapping trigger points, checking for hyperalgesia, and tracking exactly how well a patient is responding to therapies over time.
